Trade in Your Current Car for a New Nissan Rogue

There is a lot to love about the brand new Nissan Rogue. Are you ready to buy one? This is an exciting time, yet also a bit confusing. After all, it is a big deal and not something you do every day. It's time to head to the Nissan dealership and trade in your current car for a brand new crossover that you'll love to drive.

You know you want to own a Nissan Rogue in Wallingford, CT. You know you don't want your current car any longer. What you don't know is how to make the switch! Do you just drive your current car there and leave in a different one? If you've never traded in one car for another, you are probably wondering if it is really that simple. Essentially, what you do is sell your now "used car" to the Nissan dealership, and the amount they agree to pay gets taken off the value of the Nissan Rogue you have your eye one.

To start the process, all you have to do is go to the Nissan dealership you plan to buy your brand new Nissan Rogue and tell the car salesperson that you want to trade your current car in. They’ll take your car from there. As you browse the lot for your favorite Rogue version, a staff member will give it a test drive and appraise its value. The dealership employee will make you an offer. The money the dealership is willing to pay for the car goes toward the next car you’re buying. If you accept their offer, you simply finalize the deal by signing the car’s title over.

What if you think it's too low? You can also negotiate the price of your car just like you can negotiate the price of the Nissan Rogue you want to buy. Let's say you want a car with a sticker price of $40,000 and the dealership says they'll give you $10,000 for your current vehicle. You're going to need a loan for $30,000. If you negotiate with them, perhaps you can get $12,000 for your current car and only pay $35,000 for the new one. Then, you come up with an extra $3,000 down payment. All of a sudden, you're taking out a loan for $20,000 instead of $30,000! That's easier to qualify for and easier to pay off, especially when you consider the interest added on over the next few years.

Before you get discouraged about the trade-in value of your current car, remember that the reason the dealership is buying your car from you is to turn around and sell it again. That means they need to be able to make a profit! They cannot offer you more for your current car than they'll be able to get someone else to pay for it.

The only thing left to do now is head to the Nissan dealership and see what your current car is worth! You can drive in with an older, not-so-great used car and drive away with the brand new Rogue you've been dreaming of!
